What is Decongestant?
Before knowing natural decongestant remedies it is important to know, what exactly is decongestant? Either due to cold, allergies or viral infection, the nasal congestion always sucks and causes problem in breathing. So whatever pharmaceutical drug, remedies or medication we use to get relief from congestion, is called decongestant. Steam Remedy: Steam is one of the most commonly used natural decongestants. For that take boiling hot water in a vessel, add some vaporizer (Vicks) or oil in it. Now cover your head and vessel with towel and inhale the steam. Covering your face with steaming hot towel, steam room, hot shower, steam bath are also other effective steam decongestants.

Onion Remedy: Onions are another common natural decongestants. Smelling or eating the raw cut onion also helps breaking up mucus.

Mustard Oil Remedy: Mustard oil is also a very good natural decongestant. Take the dropper and put few drops of mustard oil into both the nostrils of your nose and after a few minutes you would get relief from chocked nose.

Spicy Food: Having spicy food is another home remedy and natural decongestant. Anything spicy like chilies, Mexican food, salsa, hot n sour soup etc can help in relieving congestion.

Besides eating the right food, garlic, citrus fruits like orange are also very much effective natural decongestants.

Serratiopeptidase - Benefits and Side Effects


What is Serratiopeptidase?
Serratiopeptidase is also known as serratia peptidase, serratio peptidase or serrapeptidase etc. It is a proteolytic enzyme, which is produced by enterobacterium Serratia sp. E-15. Serratiopeptidase is originally found inside the intestine of silkworm, that produces it to break dwon its cocoon walls. It is produced or manufactured by the purification and from the culture of Serratia E-15 bacteria.

Side Effects of Whey Protein




What is Whey Protein?

  • High doses of whey protein may cause Ketosis, that increases the level of ketone bodies in the blood, which could damage the liver. 

  • Excessive amount of whey protein may also damage the kidney. Formation of kidney stones is a very common side effect of whey protein. 

  • Some studies have proven that overdose of whey protein may cause Osteoporosis, which lead an imbalance of minerals in bones.

Best Whey Protein Dose:
To escape off these serious or common whey protein side effects the doctors or physicians recommend to take around 1 gram or lesser protein per pound of a body's weight daily. The Athletes may consume maximum of 25 grams of protein per day while bodybuilders may consume maximum of 150 grams of whey protein per day only if they do heavy exercise daily.

Side Effects of Paracetamol

Side Effects of Paracetamol Tablets
The chemical name of paracetamol is N-acetyl-p-aminophenol, which is also known as Acetaminophen. Paracetamol tablets are most widely used as pain killer, for the relief from headache, cold, flu, minor pains and fever etc. Hence paracetamol is classified as a Mild Analgesic and Antipyretic.

But taking overdose or unprescribed Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) may cause some serious diseases. So before taking any dosage, it's better to know the side effects of paracetamol as well.

FDA recommended few restrictions on paracetamol drugs in order to protect people from its toxic effects. Below find some of the common side effects of paracetamol drugs:
